iTheatre–Grimm’s Fairy Tales 2013

i Theatre is back with a most exciting series on Grimm’s Fairy Tales!

In 1819, Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm published their classic collection of two hundred folk tales, which have fed the imaginations of generations of people, young and old ever since. Now, celebrate these stories with us, through a full-scale Broadway-standard Musical that carefully interweaves energetic physical theatre, music, song and storytelling.

You will be drawn in to a magical world of talking and singing beasts, princesses and servants, magic and mystery, heroes and villains, where good triumphs and evil is vanquished. Strong moral lessons are learned as ordinary folk outwit and outplay the baddies.

What stories will be told? Look out for favourites such as The Musicians of Bremen, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, The Valiant Little Tailor and Little Red Riding Hood; but watch out for surprises too, as we introduce less well-known but equally fascinating tales!

Don’t be fooled into thinking that these are folk tales just for the children. This musical will enthral and entertain both young and old alike, with lively action and beautifully crafted stories for the small ones, but with subtext and multi-layered performances that will give something to challenge and engage older young people and adults too.
