I Theatre–Grimm’s Fairy Tales Review

Last Saturday, Nathan got to watch his first ever full length musical—Grimm’s Fairy Tales by I Theatre. According to the show synopsis, it promised to transport the kids into the magical world of fairy tales through energetic physical theatre, music, mask, puppetry and song. As a treat, we brought along Nathan’s cousins—Nana (5yo) & Zane (3yo).

I admit I was a little concerned that little Zane won’t be able to sit through the 1.5hr show (that sounds really long in his vocab!) and my sister was worried that the villains in the stories would frighten the kids. After all, they were going to watch Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, The Valiant Little Tailor and Little Red Riding Hood and others come to life. (Think the wicked witch & the Big Bad Wolf)

Well, all our worries were in vain! The show was so entertaining that the kids wanted to watch it again! They enjoyed the singing, the VERY VERY funny jokes (quote & unquote), the silliness in some characters and generally they just loved the show! I can’t tell you more without bringing in any spoilers! But trust me, they remained seated, they weren’t fidgety, and they certainly weren’t frightened. I know your kids would love the show too.

Here’s showing you some snippets of the show!
