Greenfields Milk makes Yummy Bread Pudding
I’ve been asked this question many times. What milk do your kids drink now? Since each child turned one, I’ve started them on Cow’s Milk. That’s right, no more expensive formula milk. (The books did say it’s ok too!) To keep within the budget, they have been drinking powdered cow’s milk. But recently, we changed. No more powdered, no more boiling hot water to mix. We are now drinking Greenfields Fresh Milk.
Let’s go back to the genesis. Formula milk has been out of our shopping list since 2009. It was just too expensive. And since every parenting book and website says it’s ok to feed them cow’s milk, we made the change. And since (to me, at least), powdered milk are the same regardless of brand, my kids have tried Dutch Lady, Nespray, Fernleaf, Every Day milk. I thought of going for Fresh Milk. But it’s also a little pricey. So we stuck to powered instant milk. Until recently.
A friend told us to try Greenfields, especially their Chocolate Malt milk. She told me her kids love it. Nicer than the thick milo drink from the coffee shop! I bought a small carton and all three kids loved it! Best part? It’s not expensive! (more on that later)
So when Greenfields approached me to do a review of their products, I jumped at it. And I’m glad I did. Look at what I found out!
- Originated from Indonesia and established in 1997
-
Integrated dairy farm is based at Gunung Kawi, Malang, (this means the milk is collected and processed and packed all at the farm. The raw milk is not transported and no time is wasted!)
- And it’s from Indonesia, so we don’t lose any of the freshness while the cost remains low.
- They maintain the same high Quality control and hygiene standards as Australia and New Zealand.
So my kids loved the Chocolate Malt. It’s yummy and has a rich chocolate flavour. For the regular fresh milk, I found a delicious recipe for Bread Pudding!
You need:
4-5 slices of bread (you can have different variety)
3 Tablespoons of Butter
4 Eggs
¾ cup of white sugar (or brown sugar for a richer taste)
2 cups of Milk
1 Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
Raisins (optional)
Nuts (optional)
Throw it into a preheated oven at 350 degree C and bake for 45 minutes. And ta-dah!!!
How’s that? And it’s Easy Peasy Cooking with Kids!
Greenfields Milk comes in variants of Fresh Milk, Chocolate Malt, High Calcium Low Fat (only 1.3% fat) and High Calcium Skimmed Milk (less than 0.1% fat). Available at most supermarkets and hypermarkets at $5.95 for a 2-litre bottle, $3.25 for a 1-litre pack and $1.50 for a 200ml pack (at 7-Eleven stores only).
Greenfields sponsored the milk used in this recipe, all opinions are 100% my own.
ooh I would love to make a bread pudding saturated with the chocolate milk 🙂
