Fresh Groceries delivered to your home! #Giveaway #PurelyFresh
One of the earliest memories I have of shopping for food is with my Dad. I remember on Sundays, he would get up really early in the morning and go to this really dark, crowded and smelly market. It was a make-shift market by the road, and according to Dad, the meat and veg there are really fresh! So I remember going with him ONCE to check it out and never ever returning! If I’m not wrong, this was in the early 80s.
Subsequently, the government wiped out such markets and Dad started going to a brightly lit, well ventilated wet market. This time, it was still smelly (with the meat and chicken slaughtering!) and it was still crowded. BUT the darkness was no more. It was more bearable. I still never liked the market. I recall no one talked there, everyone SHOUTED. Hahaha!
Well, I’ve not been to a wet market for a while. One main reason is because there aren’t so many of them around. And even if there is, it is not quite the same now. Another reason is there just isn’t time. I cannot imagine waking up early to go marketing! (If you go late, you just get the stuff that the early birds didn’t want—spelt Not So Fresh). To get my fresh food, I will just go to the nearby supermarket and shop! It’s easy and clean! And in some cases, 24 hours!
Alas, there’s more that awaits me! Online Grocery Shopping! I must say first, I’ve tried this a couple of times, and it’s limited to dried goods and household products. But now, there’s an Online site at PurelyFresh, that allows you to shop for your entire grocery list! Imagine buying fruits, vegetables, fresh prawns, poultry, eggs, beef, milk etc etc. All this from the comforts of home!
I admit. I’m a little hesitant. After all, how do you return a brown celery stalk, or a salmon steak that’s not fresh, or a bruised apple? If you can’t choose the products, how can I guarantee the fresh produce?
Well, Purely Fresh wasn’t started by some young start-up entrepreneur. Since 1998, they have been selling vegetables at a regular wet market stall. Over the years, they bought over the wet markets in Woodlands, Sengkang and Punggol. Thus, within their inventory, they have an ever-expanding range of products. And they guarantee stringent quality checks and chilled transportation to ensure everything ordered would arrive fresh! (They are so confident that if you aren’t happy with the delivery, you get a full 100% refund upon delivery!)
Here’s a peek at what is offered at Purely Fresh! (I’m showing you the more unusual picks!)
Do you know that for every meat purchased, you can request for it to be sliced or minced? It is customised just like how you can have it done at the market or butcher’s!
One specialty PurelyFresh offers is very fresh Yong Tau Foo. I will be ordering that really soon! Check out the options available! It’s like being in a Yong Tau Foo Stall!

I’ve always had this stigma about shopping for fresh produce online because I can’t check the freshness. Would give this a go to see if the standards of freshness meets my expectations. If it does, I dare say you may see less of me at a crowded supermarket on a weekend.
Currently I shop for dry goods from fair price online and my fresh fish from Song Fish .. I have yet to find an online portal that has both fresh food and dry goods … And definitely not yong tao foo. Hope to try this !
I’m a full time working adult with irregular working hours and to me, grocery shopping is an essential but yet seems like a chore for me as I need to spend extra time before or after work to make a few rounds at the supermarket looking for what I need, then queue up for payment and lastly carry heavy bags home… *sweat* luckily more and more online grocery stores are popping up but most of them offer very limited fresh food and vegetables. After reading your blog post anf0d surfing through PurelyFresh website, I realized they offer a good variety of fresh food and some are even cheaper than buying from the physical store! Their website is well designed and easy to search for my needs.
The biggest incentive is of course delivering to my doorstep. This saves a whole lot of my time and energy ! I’m also excited to try them out and see if the fresh selections are of acceptable quality. If so, I wouldn’t mind cooking at home every day since I prefer home cooked food over hawker centres 🙂
Thank you for sharing this awesome giveaway with us!
Hi Jiahui,
It’s a pleasure to read your blog and learn from your experiences. I’m also a working mum with a cute lovely princess who is in primary 1 now. Cooking real food and grocery shopping didn’t bother me before because I relied entirely on my mom on this until last month when they moved away to another estate that’s far from me. So I assumed the roles of working, grocery shopping as well as preparing bento for my princess. Oh my, for the first time, I find that juggling with these tasks seems more energy straining than climbing Mt Everest. Haha. I’m lousy at it of course. But my picky princess seems to know the taste difference between frozen and fresh meat! She refused to touch the meat in the bento if I used frozen ones. She says it taste weird. Maybe my cooking sucks but she’ll at least finish whatever is on her plate if I had used fresh chicken or fish. The challenge for me is buying fresh food after work, which is almost impossible as my location isn’t near any 24hr supermarket that sells fresh produce and the only wet market is closed by the time i get home.
So purelyfresh seems like an answer to my solution. I didn’t know this site existed until I read your post and thankfully you’ve also highlighted my concerns of buying the ” not so fresh food “. I guess the refund guarantee puts my mind at ease 🙂
I’ll probably try out their service one of this days and hopefully it meets my expectations 🙂 Liked and Shared post on Facebook.
This is great for my mom as she has arthritis and it’s a pain for her to walk to the market every day. at least with PurelyFresh I can now help her to order whatever she needs online and delivered right to my doorstep! i think my mom will love this idea too.
Thank you.
This makes life easy to order fresh produce online. Now we don’t have to go to the market in the morning and sleep late,!
I would like to try shopping at PurelyFresh for the experience of getting my fresh produce online – and in the process I need not have to lug my my heavy purchases and fear I may have bruise any of the delicate vegetables, or I took too much time to get home such that the meats are going to rot (yikes). I trust that PurelyFresh will deliver the items in good condition and fresh – items will be properly packed and still frozen or well-chilled.
I would like to try shopping at PurelyFresh as I want to test out buying fresh produce online, if the experience is positive, I would definitely shop online for groceries more often due to the hectic lifestyle we lead!
As a full time working mom, I cook daily for the family. Would love to try PurelyFresh for a different and more convenient experience. For us, usually we lug the kids and the groceries to and back from the supermarket. I also love the Yong Tau Foo section as these food got to cook fresh.
Wow…. This will be so convenient, literally shop grocery online and have them delivered to our door step. Don’t need to worry having to carry all the bulky and heavy grocery home.
It will save me trips to the wet market on weekend mornings, leaving me more time to sleep in! Heh heh!
I hope to try out PurelyFresh because I usually buy frozen meat out of convenience although I prefer fresh meat and seafood. With this online order and delivery service, there will be one less task for me to do or worry about. I can spend more time learning new receipes and cooking in the kitchen!
This is great for me as i can do online marketing shopping especially i needs to take care of my mum who is sick with illness. Bringing her to do marketing is not a easy task !!! And i have to waits for long queue in the supermarket and pay up. Loaded all these groceries and carry back home. All these no needs to worry @purelyfresh.
The food products are so fresh & convenient in term of small quality & get all these to deliver to my doorstep. I can choose what i like. There are so many varieties of groceries.
Hope to be one of the lucky winner to win this giveaway.
Thank you.
I have heard so much about various online grocery shopping websites then yet to try any of them. I’m skeptical about the degree of freshness as claimed by these vendors. I hope to be picked as one of the lucky ones to prove me wrong.
I simply love online shopping! Buying groceries online would mean that I can sleep later and have the heavy groceries send to my doorsteps!

Because I have heard from my friend that the groceries at PurelyFresh is really fresh and of good quality! I want to give it a try but am afraid that the groceries may not turn up as good as those from the market so didn’t dare to give it a try. However, if I manage to win the vouchers, it is a non-risk shopping so why not? Often, I am busy with my work and housework after returning home and always am too tired to go to the market and carry heavy groceries home so if PurelyFresh proves to be a good alternative, I can start buying from PurelyFresh and it will save me a lot of trouble. 🙂
For convenience. Mostly to see if the groceries are really purely fresh!

If it can save me a trip to the wet market on weekend mornings for fish, why not? =)
Anything that enables me to settle logistical or admin matters faster and gives me more time with my family or more me-time even, is worth at least a try. Applies to Purely Fresh’s service.
Making grocery runs are annoying, heavy and time consuming – and when I’m in the middle of making plans for Chinese New Year or an overseas trip, it could all seem impossible. PurelyFresh seems to be a site with the greatest range of fresh seafood and yong tau foo; heard that they had cockles, crabs and even sea cucumber! Its clean layout appeals to me too as it seems that it is super easy to use as well. Love to give it a try!
I hardly have time to go market as weekend morning are busy hours to my kids to class. Weekday i am working, iterally hardly any fresh meat/ seafood left. So end up frozen food are the next best alternative. By the name of PurelyFresh really sound appealing seem like food is fresh and easy to order. Hope to win this voucher less guilt to try ordering online maybe this might be the best alternative going forward!
I would like to try ordering from Purely Fresh because, its like a dream come true for Mummies..
You can “shop” online at home & they delivered at reasonable good time slots. The only concern I have is the freshness of the food, but after reading your blog, I am really keen to try.. seriously solve my problem.. I dont have to carry “weights” home, neither do I have to wait for hubby to drive me to e supermarket during the weekend and struggling with e kids and e crowd!!! Its pure happiness if this work.. that’s why i say its a joy for many Mums.
Being a mother of four, two boys and two girls always have to buy fresh food and vegetables for my family. Its important for them to grow with the choices we make for our children. Healthy children = Happy kids! 😉
I have this strange phobia about online shopping. I rarely shop online for things not to mention shop online for perishable and fresh produce.
So I really hope I will be able to win this so that I can experience for myself how efficient and reliable online shopping can be.
I have not done any online grocery shopping before and “shopping” at Purelyfresh sound really cool and convenient since they have everything under one roof and they have guarantee satisfaction. Sound too good to be true. Having a home of my own now, I will cook more for my family so that they have a balanced and healthy meal and I need such convenience to keep me going.
A great way to do grocery shopping without leaving home..:)
Cool! Would really like to try ordering fresh food online, especially raw seafood and meat.
As a busy grandmother,I have to prepare fresh food for my grandchildren after their school hours. Shopping for grocery and unpacking them later is tedious and tiresome. Though I have not done any online grocery shopping before and “shopping” at Purelyfresh sound really cool and convenient. Since all items are fresh, neatly packed and deliver direct to doorsteps, this service really saves time and energy. This would make me the happiest grandma in town!
