The Mozzie Wipeout – Before You Leave for Your Vacation
The holidays are coming!! Either the nice long weekend, or the September holidays, or just generally the year end holidays. When we go away, our priority has always been ensuring that when we are away, we have everything we need. This means: swimwear, sunblock, tissues, PJs, toiletries etc.
And before we leave the house, it’s the usual switch off all switches, close all windows, lock the doors… Well, this was us before the husband had Dengue. Since then, we took on the entire checklist that we found on www.dengue.gov.sg We didn’t want to take any risk of having Dengue hit us again.
Top most on the checklist:
COVER ALL TOILET BOWLS
TURN OVER ALL WATER STORAGE CONTAINERS
These basics COVERS would ensure the mosquitos do not have any conducive environment to breed. We do that as part of our going away checklist now, remember to do them before you leave for your holiday!
Here’s the rest of the checklist, courtesy of the good people at National Environment Agency:
I have never thought of doing such things but it sure makes sense. I will have to remember this next time we leave for a trip. Thanks for sharing.
