Raffles Hotel Courtyard Suite–A True Staycation
We’ve all heard of the iconic Raffles Hotel. Nearly every political figure/entertainment who’s who/member of every possible royal family have stayed at the Raffles. Most of us have walked through the shopping gallery there, marvelling at the historical architecture, gawking into the windows of the high-end shops.
But we have never ventured beyond the gates that say “RESIDENTS ONLY”.
Last weekend, my family & I were invited to have a staycation at Raffles. It was an experience of a lifetime. I’ve had staycations many times and this was the first time I had withdrawal symptoms when I reached home. Gosh… we really miss it!
The entire stay was very different from a usual hotel, simply because the hotel is housed in a historically rich building. The main structure was built in 1899, and every upgrade, re-fitting, renovation, etc were done to add on to the colonial grandeur of the hotel. If you are expecting hi-tech LED TVs, sleek black furniture or funky neon lights, you would be disappointed. Everything in the hotel screams COLONIAL.
The ceiling is high, the furnishing is tudor-style wood, the walls have floral mosaic, the bathroom fittings are gold/brass, and the TV is the classic box type—no flatscreen or plasma here!
I’m just going to focus on our suite today. We were allocated the Courtyard Suite and here are some pictures as a teaser!
The suite is seriously so so comfortable, we were all happy to just stay in all day. You see, each suite had a 24hr Butler who would assist with anything that you may need. We ordered EXTRA pillows (not me. It’s the kids. And they wanted to try every pillow on the pillow menu!) and our favourite part? We ordered TEA! The butler asked what type of tea we wanted, we said Earl Grey, and ta-da!! It’s complimentary too!
For my family of 5, we loved loved loved the suite. It was spacious and comfortable. Those towels you saw in that photo are for those who use the bathtub. I didn’t take pictures of the shower area, where another 5 towels were laid out!
That one long weekend was a most luxurious one we had as a family. Raffles Hotel, we really so miss you!!

Sounds fabulous! I love it when hotels are big enough for a family of 5, it is hard to cram everyone into a standard room

Wow, looking very attractive and enjoyable your hotel design that is your out side in your hotel. But I like very much your hotel interior design and service. That is a very valuable one concept for me. I hope in future I'll visit your hotel.
Mom can book a hotel online and have a good experience and I can feel safe as she travels. When you book a hotel room, I suggest you undertake the same type of process. Hotel sites provide the tools so use them.
Hey there just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know
